hi Joe,

thanks for your feedback. don't get me wrong
... the Tuning Dictionary was conceived from the
very beginning as an interactive hyperlinked
internet resource, and that is still its preferred
format.

but i've been thinking for some time about issuing
it in book form, and lately, as many of the entries
have been growing and including more visual aids,
i find that i'm printing out a lot of them for use
as a reference myself. (OK, you must figure i know
it, since i wrote it ... so the real truth is ...
i just love looking at the diagrams...) ;-)

and i find that there are many times (relaxing in bed,
in the car between lessons, an afternoon at the beach)
when i'm enjoying perusing those print-outs and would
prefer *not* to be viewing them on the computer even
if it were available.

so i think the time has come for it.

***Oh sure... That will be a great "supplement," but as you mention,
yourself, the format and concept really works best on the Web (in
*my* opinion). It also allows for the frequent updates and
amplifications that you have recently been doing, of course. Not
such a "static" format as print... Frankly, I think some of the
diagrams come off "better" on the web. Sometimes graphics are hard
to print and don't look so good after they're printed, unless one has
an excellent printer and some pretty good luck!

best,

Joe P.
