hi again Alison,

i wrote that reply to you quickly this morning
when i was in a rush to get to an appointment.

i wanted to also say that it's been quite a while
since the last time i created a "zip" file of the
Tuning Dictionary, and i've made some big updates
to several of the pages since then. so i'll be
creating a new "zip" for those of you who want
to download the whole thing the easy way.

the zip file also includes some of the other webpages
that Dictionary entries link to.

but anyway, as i said before, if you're saving the
pages and you put everything into the same directory,
it should work, with a few exceptions. the main
exceptions are the meantone lattice diagrams, and
the set of graphs that go on the "equal temperament"
page -- each of those has their own directory.

if you open a Dictionary page and don't see the
graphics, just look at the source code and you'll
see the name of the directory you need to create
in which to store the graphics.

also, in case you missed it, i've created a mirror
site for my website, in a Yahoo group:
/tuning/files/monzo/homepage.html

i'm hoping this works as i planned ... let me know
if there's a problem accessing any of the pages.
i know that many of the links will be dead until
i can upload all of my pages -- i'm talking here
about Yahoo not allowing someone to view a file
that does exist.

last but not least ... i've finally decided to
make a hard-copy version of the Tuning Dictionary.
it's gotten big enough now to merit becoming a
book of its own, rather than being a "glossary"
accompanying my first book. so i'll be working
on this for the next few months if any of you
are interested.

***This will be great, Monz! But, personally, I feel
the "interactive" feel of the *Web*-based dictionary will never be
surpassed by something printed...
