Hi there,

it's interesting to find two pieces of music which both, despite being written in different years, have these things in common:
A) They both use the same keys (f minor and F major).
B) They both use very similar tempos.
C) They are both for piano played by some electronic equipment, no matter if the music is stored as a MIDI sequence or as a piano roll.
Those of you who remember the 72-equal piece of Danny's certainly know what I'm talking about:

I'd like to here the Danny ?Weir piece.

Nice link to Puttin' on the Ritz, though, which makes me think of:
"Where Wolf?" (Young Frankenstein)

Any clue where I can here this 72-equal piece of Danny's?

To Caleb,

this is what I was able to figure out by the Yahoo group search engine:

The only thing I found here was a link to Danny's MySpace profile which eventually didn't say anything about "The Waterloo Rag", as far as I've read ... Okay, it seems I'll have to look it up on my laptop's hard drive where I saved the file when Danny posted the link. In the end, maybe I'll just upload it somewhere myself -- never thought I'd be uploading music from other TL members. :-D

I just left Danny Weir a note on MySpace telling him how much I loved
The Waterloo Rag.

That made my hair stand up, then made me fall over.

Vertiginous, but swingin'.

Caleb,

you did better than me ... How come that I couldn't find it there?

Well, you probably are more thoughtful than me. I just start clicking
on things like a demented ferret.

It's here:

There I've been, already. And there I haven't found any options to play music.

You should see it if you have some Flash plugin installed and some kind
of scripting enabled.

hmm. I'm looking at a myspace music page. playlist at upper right,
in greyish box. "transport" controls toward top of this.

pieces: Ambiguous Political Statement (19 plays)
The Waterloo Rag (7 plays)
Loving Country (13 plays)

(maybe it's some computer or Internet issue...I'm using a Mac running
OS X--but that shouldn't matter....

hmmm

It's at http://www.myspace.com/dannywier and the tune is titled "The
Waterloo Rag". It should be the second song on the list unless you got
shuffle on.

Any similarities to Irving Berlin is purely coincidental. I think. ~D.

Heh, looks like you all found it already.

Also, since Yahoo! Briefcase is shutting down next month, I went ahead
and deleted all my files. I asked Petr to get me set up at his website,
so I should have some or all of my work there soon.

I've been really slow lately, however. ~D.

Uh, I meant Chris V. I really have been slow lately.
