I propose the following distinctions:

ADSL= Arithmetic Divisions of String Lenght,
ADPL= Arithmetic Divisions of Pipe Lenght,
EDSL= Equal Divisions of String Lenght,
EDPL= Equal Divisions of Pipe Lenght,

where P above is subject to volume, air pressure, so on...

For the Ney, the basic method is 26-EDPL:

26/26 is the hole for perde Rast
22/26 for perde Dugah
21/26 for perde Kurdi
20/26 for perde Segah
18/26 for perde Chargah
17/26 for perdes Hijaz & Saba
16/26 for perde Neva
13/26 for perde Acem

I still expect some good soul to come forward and help with the calculations of how these ratios end up with approximately these ratios:

0: 1/1 0.000 unison, perfect prime
1: 9/8 203.910 major whole tone
2: 32/27 294.135 Pythagorean minor third
3: 56/45 378.602
4: 4/3 498.045 perfect fourth
5: 10/7 617.488 Euler's tritone
6: 3/2 701.955 perfect fifth
7: 16/9 996.090 Pythagorean minor seventh

We have LDO, ADO, EDO besides. There was also some equal frequency increment thing that I do not recollect exactly.

What should we do with the lot?
