I heard an intense Raga Yaman with composition Raga Sundara
(La Monte Young) in ektal (12 beat) vilampit (slow) khayal (style)
at the Dream House last night. About 2 hours and 11 min.

What I learned is that I don't know Yaman that well!

La Monte sang with three singers (Marian Zazeela,
Jung Hee Choi, Da'ud Constant), Charles Curtis (cello)
and Naren Budhkar (tablas).

My education in raga continues...

Hello David, any intense Yaman rendition of more than two hours would be very interesting, and even instructive. It cannot be a CD -- what format is it? Where could one get it to listen to?

***They don't advertise this stuff very well. I didn't even know it
was going on. I thought I was on their mailing list, if they have

It's on their web site. They emailed twice about it. I forwarded it to

If you sign the guest book at the Dream House and include your
email address, you should get on the official non-Yahoo list.
