Not to toot my own horn to much, but I have created a whole bunch of
pieces based on the Partch tonality diamond. It's not Partch in all
his corporeal glory, but it is one person's attempt to make some
music based on the ideas in his tonality diamond. After reading
Genesis of a Music, I started exploring what the diamond was about.
Ten years later, I'm still limited to up and down the utonality and
otonality. One of these days I'll cross that barrier, or maybe go to
13 or 15, or maybe extend to all 43 tones.

For now, I've got enough musical material in the basic 29 to make it
interesting.

By the way, I've created a web log with daily postings of musical
fragments as I compose a new piece. The idea is to spend at least 10
minutes a day composing something. That way, I have something to
think about while waiting in clients offices, or in airport security
checkpoints.

What if I used a glissando from 4:3:2 to 5:4:3, for example. If you
are interested in the daily stuggle to create, see
http://www.xanga.com/music1024 . A kilobyte a day is all we ask.

I didn't know if the fellow wanted *musical* examples, but you certainly have continued with the fabric of the diamond. But even when you toot your own horn, you put a mute in it! Since you didn't mention your SoundClick site, I will:

http://www.soundclick.com/prentrodgers

That way people can hear the stuff.

Hey, I went and checked it out and tried to added comments. Well, actually, I did put comments in, but I can't seem to find a way to see anyone's comments, mine included. Post either here or MMM, or privately, but I find it interesting to watch progress like this...

Cheers,
Jon

If he does want musical examples, another would be "Diamond in the
Rough", on my web page: http://66.98.148.43/~xenharmo/gene.html
Whether or not you think it is musical I leave to you.

Hi Prent,

You should be tooting your horn a lot more around here :)

Though I did try to toot it for you, in case you missed it:

Don't respond (save the typing) but I hope you heal up quickly. Damn, walking on all those icy streets must be difficult!

Cheers,
Jon
