A new work for your ears.....

Hey all,

I've uploaded a new work, an improvisation called "Hommage á Messiaen" for
synthesizer and percussion to my website.

The link is http://www.aaronandlorna.com/audio/hommage_รก_messiaen.mp3

The piece is of interest in that it is an application of Paul Hahn's maximully
consonant 7-limit just tuning, which I inquired about recently on the tuning
list.

I'd love to hear your comments!

Happy Halloween,
Aaron Krister Johnson

Just went to download this, and noticed the French character.
Not a good idea in file names.

wget has no problem with it on Windows, though. Haven't tried
anything else.

Sorry you all had trouble with the French character. Try switching to Linux!

***Very improvisatory... personally *much* preferred "The Juggler..."

Joseph-

Thanks for listening!

Yes, a gun to my head would make me choose the same. But I like the idea of
doing different things! If everything I do get's compared to "Juggler", I'm
liable to destroy it! (just kidding). But seriously, sophmoritis.....

"Juggler" was but on side of my musical persona, an apollonian side, one might
say..

I think I'm proud of "hommage" for it's raw improvisatory energy, something
that is hard to (but not impossible) capture in composition. It's very
"Dionysian"... Andy and I were very pleased listening back to it!

But again, I love the feedback, pro or con, so thanks!

All best,
AKJ

***Just personal taste, of course. I believe I expressed my opinion
before that _The Juggler_ was one of the finest microtonal
compositions I have heard... a tad short, though... :)
