if you click on "wallyesterpaulrus" in the yahoo id column of the
messages index, you'll see a recent pic of me playing with
stretch . . . (just in case anyone thinks i'm actually a machine, an
alien, or a demonic being from hell)

Yahoo tuning site.

Actually, it's not a tuning site. One of the nice things about yahoo
is that one account gets you webmail, groups, photo albums, financial
data, etc.

If I had called it a tuning site, folks would have had a problem with that.

Instead of avoiding the obvious, explain the relevance of of photo of
Paul playing a 12tet guitar to this list.

***In all fairness, Paul showed me how to bend up at least a half-
step, maybe a whole step on my 12-tET electric guitar. I didn't
really think about that being possible...

Any guitarist could have showed you the same thing JP. Bending
strings on a guitar isn't a mystery cult.

If I posted a photo of myself playing a normal marimba instead of a diamond marimba, would that be equally offensive? What if I were holding a cat? By the neck? :)

Look, he has a photo out there, and I don't mind getting a mental image of a person I've long seen only in ascii commentary, even if he has a 12eq guitar. I know people who have pictures of themselves with non-12 instruments that represent, to me, the failure of tuning(s) to overcome bad musicianship; holding a particular instrument wouldn't save them...

Cheers,
Jon

Yep. Less so because you haven't generated
a zillion posts to the tuning list about tuning theory and then
anounced a photo about.....ahem....when IS Paul
going to walk the walk? This is getting kinda silly.

I should make a web page about, ahem, my "happy parts"
and then post about it to the tuning list. That would be OK, right?.

If that's the image you want to project, go for it.

more importantly, i showed joseph that you can bend by microtonal
amounts to get any 11-limit consonance you want -- with distortion,
it's especially easy to hear when you're "locked in".
