is this a mistake??

p. 7 of Gardner Read's book _20th Century Microtonal Notation_ cites
the unit of measurement "Herz" named after Heinrich Herz. The
*dictionary* cites "Hertz" after Heinrich Hertz (and the rent-a-
car). I believe Gardner Read is wrong, and the latter is correct,
correct??

Sounds good to me.

But if he's wrong about this, how do we know if he knows
what he's talking about when it comes to notation?

At this point, I'm afraid to even look at a score!

That is correct. Before Hz for Hertz was used, cps for sycles per second was
used.

i read Read's book many years ago, and remember it being
filled with errors.
