Thanks to all who made it to last weekend's MicroFest concerts. Both
were very well attended. The LA Times review is available here: http://

Remember that Kraig Grady's Anaphorian shadow play will be this
Saturday at the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena California. The
following weekend will feature a program of American tunings with a new
piece by Lou Harrison for specially-fretted National Steel guitar. It
will also include pieces by Harry Partch, John Cage, James Tenney, Ezra
Sims, and Charles Ives. There will also be a program of traditional
Middle Eastern Music.

More information is here: http://www.microfest.org/

I hope to see you there!

Bill

***I can't imagine *anybody* "covering their ears" when listening to
a Kraig Grady composition! I would never even *think* of doing that,
for fear I might miss something...

Great to hear of the success in L.A. Really wish I could be out there.
Maybe I can program AFMM concerts next year earlier so that we do not program
during the same month(s). best, Johnny Reinhard

Just wanted to say that at Pomona the many wonderful compositions by Bill Alves reached a climax with his piece for violin and gamelan. Exquisitely played and beautifully written that
when it was over, I just craved for more, wanting to go on for ever! You boys on the east coast should do this one!

Kraig, that is exactly how I felt about Bill's work(s) last year at MicroFest. Bill, we know you at least *post* to the list, so here is another bouquet for some of the most beautiful new microtonal music being done...

...and WHEN will we be able to get a recording of some of your latest music??? :)

Cheers,
Jon
