Paul, I only see up to Jerry7 on tuning2.

Not that there's anything wrong with deep listening, but Jerry,
if you're looking for something above 5:4 that locks like a 5:4,
it do not exist. Do a slow sweep (or have Paul make one) from
350-450 cents if you don't believe me.

The other thing that's clearly lacking is a recording of the
experiment being done on a choir. Without it, I don't even have
a starting point with this thing.

I found it in the files section here. Okay, what am I
supposed to listen for?

***Well, "Jerry10" is mighty weird. I'm glad I finally found it here
in *these* archives. Why isn't it with the *other* Jerries, either
on Tuning2 or on Tuning Math?? And where is "Jerry08" and "Jerry09"
or don't they exist??

Maybe this is totally a different experiment. I read about it, but
got a little lost.

To me, it sounds as though a full just triad is *already* articulated
at the *start* of Jerry10. I don't know whether that is the way
it's "supposed" to sound or not, or if I'm just experiencing
something illusory. It sounds like just intonation at the beginning,
with a 2:3:5 already sounding, although I have to admit, for some
reason I have trouble hearing the "fundamental" very well.

*THEN* it sounds like yet *another* 5 is added, which is a 10th that
is *not* just, and it starts beating like crazy.

But, why did I *already* think I was hearing a just 10th in there??

That's very strange.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the experiment?? :)

Could you please tell the rest of us where. I couldn't find any sound
files under Paul Erlich's folder. It sure would be nice to have
directions to where Jerry10 is for thus of us with little time for
Easter egg hunts.

Cheers,

Bob

***Hi Bob. It's here in his directory, only under a sub-folder
called .wavs. I admit it's as much a challenge to *find* the file as
to listen to it. I was experiencing strange results, but that's
nothing new... :)
