Paul!
The reason i wrote out the Pelog as a chain of variable fifths is
this is the way i generate the scales. take 5 at a time or take 7 and
then take five. All in a Pelogorean chain
according to the methods of Pelogorus.

Hi Kraig, glad you're back!

I'd be interested if you could give the specifics on this.

BTW, the 'equivalent' (in 22-tET) scale with a near-7/6 generator is
something Gene calls "Orwell", since 19/84 octave is about optimal
for the generator. It's one of the best linear temperaments for the
11-limit, used for example with a 22-tone MOS (I think Gene even
extolled the 11-limit virtues of the 9-tone MOS).

Gene not only did that, he actually wrote something in it. See:

Gene!
First pardon the misunderstanding about your post.
This piece reminds me of a few times i would play with a short-wave and get some renaissance
music but due to the faulty reception all the intervals would be expanded or contracted. i always
loved it and was always sorry i never had a tape recorder fashion.
Likewise i have heard Dan Wolf's transposition of one of the brandenbergs to pelog.
of course your has more rhythmic variety going on

Sorry I didn't clear it up sooner--it wasn't clear to me you were annoyed or wanted anything further, so I didn't reply to your posting.

Thanks for the comments.
