Ben Johnston string quartet recording.

I've searched the list archives for "Ben Johnston CD", "Ben Johnston",
and "Ben Johnston string quartet", and found a question of John Starrett's,
'where can I get the recording everyone's talking about'. That's also
my question. I didn't see an answer, though.

I also searched a number of other sources looking for recent recordings
(the thread seemed to indicate this was new). I found nothing.

Where is the recording that was discussed here so ardently?

FWIW, I found it, contacted Ben, and he says he is no longer willing to distribute the CD except to groups who intend to produce or perform the music.
