Miracle 101, the summer course...

Monz (especially), Paul, Dave K., anyone else:

What is your best suggestion for a succinct summary of the Miracle
thing -- is it a page(s) on Monz's site, or does someone else have a
good refresher course for both new students and the one's that had to
work at Burger King and miss a couple of classes? <g>

Seriously, if you've got a link to a summary I'd like to get
thorough. Not Thoreau, though.

Cheers,
Jon

You don't need all the mathematicians for *this* one, Jon. Even *I*
can tell you! Monz has it all:

http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/miracle.htm

http://www.ixpres.com/interval/monzo/blackjack/blackjack.htm

http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/canasta.htm

Oh... and on Graham Breed's decimal notation for the miracle family:

http://x31eq.com/decimal_notation.htm

And, Dave Keenan's "mystery circle..." (Well, it was mysterious to
*me* at first...

http://dkeenan.com/Music/MiraclePitchChart.gif

Monz also has an interesting new page on Graham Breeds decimal
notation, but he HASN'T LINKED it yet!

So, maybe Monz can provide you with that link, and link it in his
dictionary as well... assuming it should be under "decimal
notation..."

Jon,

Monz has been diligent in collecting useful Miracle stuff as it
happens and connecting it all together. But it may not necesarily be
in the order of introduction you are looking for. But I'm thinking
that whatever works for Joseph (and unfortunately most of my stuff
didn't) will probably work for you. Let us know.

Monz,

Could you update any links you have to any of my Miracle-related files
so instead of
http://www.uq.net.au/~zzdkeena/Music/<whatever>
they point to
http://www.uq.net.au/~zzdkeena/Music/Miracle/<whatever>
or simply to
http://www.uq.net.au/~zzdkeena/Music/Miracle/

Thanks.

Thanks for the citations, Joe! (I told you, you should be my agent!)

Hmmm... I could have sworn that I included that in the Dictionary
index. But I can't check right now... I haven't been able to get
into my website or log onto my server all day today. And I have
4 updated definitions, an update on Mozart 55-EDO, and 2 new pages
on Partch!!

Not only are you the first up to bat, but I appreciate it because it
has been _work_ for you, and it will be hard for me (unlike the math
guys). Thanks for the links, and especially the ordering of them,
etc. I won't get to much of this right away, but I'll make sure I
have it handy.

Thanks very much,
Jon

That's not a problem, Monz... You deserve the credit. Nobody else
is bothering to catalogue and organize this s*** (stuff).

Well, I see it there now... Maybe I just hadn't refreshed
my "cache"... that's the catch.

You're welcome, Jon. MIRACLE, specifically blackjack, is the only
scale I'm using at the moment!

best,

Joe

I started reading a bit last night, and thanks to you and Monz it is
making much more sense (and would have earlier, if I had felt like
paying closer attention).

Have fun.
