One more thing, in late breaking fashion:

For those of you in the San Diego vicinity, there was a cancellation in the speaking schedule this week, and Philip Blackburn will present a Partch lecture/performance this Thursday at UCSD. Info:

Thursday, May 24, 2001
University of California, San Diego (La Jolla)
Mandeville (music building) B-152
6:00 pm

Philip Blackburn --
"Some Possible Detours Around The Sonata Blockard: The Life and Work of Harry Partch"

Philip is planning on having examples of the music that influenced Partch, followed by Partch music that exhibits the influence, will have slides of Partch and instrument, apparantly will show some film, and may do some sort of performance. Partch is really hitting stride now that he's been dead 25 years (typical) and Blackburn has unearthed a lot of nice stuff. If you aren't familiar with his work, don't miss a chance to check this out.

Cheers,
Jon
