OK, one last thing.

I updated the Dictionary entries for "blackjack" and "MIRACLE":
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/blackjack.htm
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/miracle.htm

And added a brand new one for "canasta":

Later...

Joe, would you mind adding the nice 12-note subsets of MIRACLE that
were devised to one of your webpages...

By the way... does anybody have the links handy for those... I can go
searching, but it would save some time...

I plan on using 21 rather than 12 for the moment, but these 12-note
subsets of 72-tET should be handy for ready use...

Thanks!

Hmmm... this whole MIRACLE thing happened exactly at the
moment that I started working at Starr Labs and getting
really hot for the Ztar.

So, sorry, Joe... Since I have no MIDI Halberstadt keyboard
now, and at this point may never get another one, I never
even *read* any of the posts about the 12-tone subsets.
Skipped right over them, went for the Blackjack, then decided
that Canasta (as well as the full 72-EDO) would be work just
fine on the Ztar.

So I'd have to do a lot more searching than you... I have
no idea where they are, except that everything on MIRACLE
is post-April 28.

But sure, if someone drops them into my email box, I'll
add them when I get a chance. Which webpage do you think
the 12-tone subsets belong on? Perhaps the MIRACLE definition?

Admittedly, this is a bit "retro," but I, personally, am ALSO a
bit "retro..."

The relevant post with the "12 out of Blackjack" scale is #22622.

Called "A Weird 12 out of Blackjack."

It was originally invented by Paul Erlich, as I understand it, but
was created in a useful SCALA file by Dave Keenan in that post.

I have no plans on abandoning the Halberstadt at present... of
course, I can't afford the other stuff anyway...

Since it's derived from Blackjack, I imagine it should be linked to
that page...

OK, Joe, thanks. I added some links pointing to the Tuning
List posts about the 12-tone subset scale, at the bottom of
my Blackjack page:
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/monzo/blackjack/blackjack.htm

And have spent the last couple of hours hard at work on
the Dictionary.

I've updated the MIRACLE definition to include a link to Paul
Erlich's calculus derivation of one example optimal generator:
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/miracle.htm

And updated the WAFSO-just definition:
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/wafso.htm

... to reflect the addition of a new definition, for "quasi-just":
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/dict/quasijust.htm

And, drum roll please, an important addition: an entry for
"Halberstadt", that keyboard we all love to hate:

Thanks, Joe.... These are important additions for a very valuable
resource... I appreciate your efforts, and I am certain many others
do as well...

Joe
