They should also listen to Blackwood's wonderful 17-tET etude . . .

Thank you for this post... and I really like your writing in this
style... It seems quite natural. This does come out surprisingly
well, given the fact that according to Paul Erlich's chart 17-tET has
virtually NO approximation of low whole number ratios... well, there
is a rather poor representation of th 3-limit, but that's it...

It's a rather _good_ representation of the 3-limit, and that's why Mats'
piece sounds good. He even ends it on a linked 3-limit sonority (a stacked
fourths chord).

Whoops.... I was quickly reading the chart wrong... thanks so very
much for your correction! I kept thinking the plots toward the
BOTTOM of the chart were the most accurate! Silly...
