Still trying to gather thoughts. Will write when it is worth reading (but you already know that your mic is OK for a MD). If you want to see something interesting, type the model number of your mic into Google, and look at all the threads from concert-tapers (DAT-heads is probably the oldest list devoted to concert taping and tape swapping).
