Hi Joseph,

You were asking what the reason was for having both tuning_gossip and metatuning

Some of the posts to tuning_gossip have prob. more properly belonged to
metatuning.

However original aim for tuning_gossip was to be a forum where one can post
anything, and it doesn't have to be about the tuning lists as such.

Jokes are okay. Or a running conversation with two or three other
participants in the list that isn't particularly relevant for metatuning,
maybe has little or no significance, or short term significance, but
enjoyable for those concerned, and so forth.

If one wants to use it like that, thing would be, on main list, instead of
saying, "this is wasting bandwidth, lets stop", one would say, "Let's go over
to tuning_gossip and continue this".

tuning_gossip by its description is a list which has no bandwidth problems.

However, there's no restriction on what one can post, and as with any of the
lists, may end up posting on metatuning things, or tuning issues or whatever,
just because they turn up in the course of conversation,
but if on tuning_gossip, you know it isn't going to receive as much attention
as it will on the other lists.

(c.c.d to tuning_gossip and metatuning)

Robert

Thanks, Robert, for the clarification. I was under the impression
that one could pretty much post *ANTHING* to "metatuning" as well...

However, maybe it would be wise to keep "metatuning" more focused and
serious, and have "Tuning Gossip" for any frivolous or wacky posts...

Sometimes people *need* to communicate that kind of stuff, too!

So far, "Spiritual Tuning" has been doing part of that.

I agree with Monz that it would be nice to consolidate the lists a
bit....
