Iteration #1: Ch-ch-ch-changes...

List,

You know, I really hate it when some of my favorites show up. It is sort-of like that Godfather movie (was it III?) where Pacino says "but they keep pulllling me back in!".

I'll give some thought to a hand-over. It isn't like I haven't thought about it, but I know how things are, and if this place heads demonstrably South at some point, and becomes (or continues to be?) another clone of the ATL, I know people will still associate it with me.

I have to be careful, because I don't want to just 'let fly'. That would be easy, and anyone who has read these lists knows that I can lapse into childhood. But honest-to-goodness, the most difficult aspect of this list has been trying to maintain a different attitude *without* simply kicking people out. I have tried pleading, cajoling, soft-talking, whatever, but sometimes people just want to be jerks, and at times it has completely overshadowed my fondness for the majority of this group.

So, I wish I had a better idea. I *will* ruminate some more on creating less of a disruption, an orderly transition. I sure as hell would hate to leave a legacy where the only alternative was to return to the main list. Maybe it makes sense, but it wouldn't be a great day AFAIC. Somehow, somewhere, maybe there is some way to save the vibe.

Cheers,
Jon

***Jon, now, in my humble opinion, you are making sense again,
emotions tranquil (was it Zoloft?? :)

In any case, I would nominate Dante as the moderator, since if the
list goes to hell, he has the right name for it...
