I'll try again. Here's a link to some new microtonal music with tuning
interest. As nobody has commented I'm assuming indifference. I don't want
you to like it, but I think it's worth listening to. Failing that my next
opus will be a neo-baroque doodle on a cheesy synth (but with an interesting
tuning) : - )

The sound source is a set of a dozen cut and randomly tuned demijohns. These
were played and recorded using a pair of Soundman binaural earpiece
microphones. Then the bowls were given a good "seeing to" using Composer's
Desktop Project (CDP) software. CDP was developed by electroacoustic
composer Trevor Wishart over many years with help from IRCAM and UK and
American researchers. In particular the software allows you to manipulate
the spectrum of the sound source and to carry out precise pitch
manipulation. Here's a link : -

IMHO electroacoustic music holds great potential for the future of
microtonality.

Hey there!

This isn't just for you, but for all of us that post:

Don't assume anything! As I originally posted yesterday morning (I was the first to discover the bad link) I only had time to download as I was getting ready for a day of 2 rehearsals and an evening performance, with the same today - I won't have time to do dedicated listening til the weekend, if I'm lucky. Even short pieces don't always get an immediate response, so it can sometimes be something as simple as catching everyone when they are busy, not a matter of non-interest...

I spent a lot of years around some very famous cut-glass bowls, so I'm eager to give a listen!

Cheers,
Jon

I'm in a similar boat. I just now listened to the piece. I enjoyed
it!

I work a full-time job and will be playing in 2 orchestras by next
Wednesday. In addition, this week has been spent assembling my new
workstation frame (which combines my computer and music work area
into one place to save space) and doing the associated reorganization
work.

Just because I don't post a comment on every single piece that's
posted here doesn't mean I'm not interested in hearing MMM members'
music. I similarly don't expect comments when the time comes to post
my own stuff - I know Jon and I aren't the only busy people on this
group.

this piece is very beautiful. both me and my girlfriend think it's
very nice. don't know what constructively to say about it, other
than that. reminds me a bit of xenakis.
