I think it's because it has 7 chords, and we expect an even number of
bars. Of course, I don't want to interfere with your beliefs ...

I think this is basically true, Graham... except for the fact that
under "normal" circumstances I believe I wouldn't be "fooled" by a
repeating series of 7 chords.... I *hope* not, anyway...
