Screw the keyboard, I love that Rich Corinthian Leather!!! :)

Great job, hope it helps you make some more music (I'm really waiting to hear some 22edo music that I actually like a whole bunch...).

Cheers,
Jon

Kalle (and any other 22 folks),

If you ever perform live, I hope you'll take the sofa along on stage...

I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea - I've even tried working with 22 but just didn't care for the intervals. I'll play around with it some more some day and see if there is stuff there for my ears as well.

Cheers,
Jon

I should have been more specific: I've enjoyed your 22tet guitar pieces! But I need more, More, MORE! :)

Cheers,
Jon (who is finally up and running with a microtonal setup, working on a little piece to post later this week...)

***Again, I regret being a "spoilsport," but I believe the
assymetrical nature of the traditional Halberstadt serves a very
important function. I speak as somebody who made a living as a
*pianist* for over 10 years at one point.

Particularly for *sight reading*, recognizing immediately ones place
on the keyboard is facilitated by the 2+3 black key layout, so these
so-called "symmetrical" keyboards actually obviate the essential
advantages to assymetry.

Well, that's my take of the moment...

Joseph, look again. Paul's keyboard layout is every bit as
asymmetrical as the Halberstadt (unlike the "balanced keyboard"
posted earlier).

***I hope I'm looking at the right photo. Is it the one in
the "photos" section??

thanks, Carl...

yup . . . there's really no way you're going to lose your place on
this one. the halberstadt is just as symmetrical except for one
thing -- my layout repeats every half-octave. so the only chance for
confusion is at the "tritone". and this is easily averted -- on a two-
octave keyboard such as kalle's, you'll never lose your place; if you
had infinitely many octaves, a little red dot occuring only once per
octave would be all you need to get "locatability" equal to that of
the halberstadt.

five black keys in a row is not enough for most people to get lost. i
think you'd need seven or more in a row for that to happen.
