Fellow Microtonalists,

I've posted a new piece made with Csound on my web site at
http://home.attbi.com/~prodgers13 and at
http://www.mp3.com/PrentRodgers .

It's called Mirror Walk.

It is a piece with musical material from the Partch Tonality Diamond.
The primary scale is based on the overtone series starting on A#,
expressed in ratios as 8:9:10:11:14:16. In note names, I call them
A#, C, D, E-, F, G++. The piece modulates to chords chosen from the
undertone series of C: A#, Ab, G--, F, D++, and C, or expressed as
ratios, with A# as 1:1 they are 9:9, 9:10, 9:11, 9:12, 9:14, 9:16,
9:18. At any one time, only the overtones of one undertone are
played. More details on the sites listed above.

***Without a doubt, this is absolutely astonishing. From the point
of view of quality and variety of sounds it has to be the best yet...

***Gee-sus! This guy just *has* to be discovered some day like
Nancarrow! He's the Nancarrow of our age!

I can't believe he can get CSOUND to do this!

***I particularly like the very last section of this, where the
chords are "unelaborated..." by rhythmic articulations.

I take it these are the very basic harmonies resulting from the
overtone series from each of the utonal transpositions...

That's pretty effective, since it shows the underlying basis of the
whole thing. Wow.
