The point of their answer was that they don't support mail lists and won't
let you run Mailman.

I was just trying to answer the need for this group of people (MMM) to
have large, reliable web space for posting music, and a mail list to go
with it. Laughing Squid offers the former at a good price. Yahoo is still
free, if people want to put up with the obtrusive ads.

I guess I'm still not understanding the "problem..." Is it the
little ads on the top of this page, or is it the fact that files are
not uploading properly from the files section of this site??

Yes, and yes. Basically: none of this stuff is show-stopper material, but many people do *not* like the recent and more intrusive pop-up ads; this is personal choice. And I myself am unhappy at the unreliable nature of the downloading process on the Yahoo servers, not to mention I never received a reply from them, and I'm the list owner/moderator!

Hey, as list-mom, I have more thoughts on all this, and sorry I haven't spoken more before this. The 3 candles are burning at 5 ends right now, but next week shows a let-up, and I'll try and address some of this, as the person who got this particular ball (MMM) rolling...

Cheers,
Jon

Uploading is worse--I tried to upload to this group, and failed.
Uploading to mp3.com was not a problem, though they do restrict the
audio quality of what can be placed there (no VBR, 128kbps.)
