Hi J, Paul, and Carl,

(good to see you back on a list, Carl!)

Paul and Carl are familiar with _Invisible Haircut_, but J and
others may not be. Comments below...

Carl is referring to the piece I explain here:
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/monzo/haircut/haircut.htm

(The bottom of that page has links to several Tuning List posts
where this piece was discussed.)

Below is an auxillary webpage which has an animated lattice applet
of the 6-measure passacaglia-like chord progression from
_Theme from "Invisible Haircut"_, which allows the user to
mouseover the links giving the chord-roots, and highlights
the pitches in red on the lattice:
http://www.ixpres.com/interval/monzo/haircut/haircutlattices.htm

The mp3 is available at the Tuning Punks site, but for convenience
I've uploaded it to this group's Files section:
/harmonic_entropy/files/invisible_haircut_by_jo
e_m.mp3

The relevant quote from Paul's message:

The chords which Paul referred to as having a "pronounced
periodicity buzz" were these two, from measure 4:

11 19
19 13
7 5
5 7
3 1
1 1
----------------------------- ---------------
F (3^2)*(5^-1)*(7^1)*(19^-1) Bb (3^2)*(5^-1)

The notation I'm using here is my JustMusic analytical notation.
The stack of numbers over the line indicates the odd odentities,
with the otonal root written under the line.

(For newbies, "Otonal" and "odentity" are terms coined by Partch and
refer to his analogue of what traditional Eurocentric music-theory
calls "major"; "utonal" and "udentity" are the converse analogues for
"minor". See Partch, Harry, 1974, _Genesis of a Music_, Da Capo Press.)

love / peace / harmony ...
