PC Squeaker Timbre

I seem to remember someone saying that built-in "PC Squeakers" could be
manually (i.e. with a screwdriver) adjusted to play different waveforms than
the harsh default square wave. My computer actually rattles when I use it so
I am willing to try this. If someone could find that old post (as I'm too
lazy) or give some new information, my poor ears would be grateful.
