Gelobet seist du, Jesu Christ

As a coincidence this came on in my car on my way home from
a friend's tonight. I thought it made a very interesting
example of functional harmony. And because it's not available
on your precious internet, I've stayed up late ripping it
for you

http://lumma.org/stuff/Bohm-GelobetSeistDuJesuChrist.mp3

It's a theme and variations on a Lutheran chorale by one
Georg Bohm, sometime teacher of JS Bach. The genre is known
as Stylus Phantasticus, which is Latin for rock and roll.

So yeah, I'd call it functional, but it still has hints of
noodling around. I'm going to say it sounds a bit "Petr
functional" to me. Petr's chord progressions (and Herman's)
are the most natural I've heard in alternative regular
temperaments, and it seems like this is something Petr might
play for his meantone example were meantone new and strange.

Penny for your thoughts,

-Carl

The reproduction stops at about the middle. It sounds very well.

Hi Mario,

I just tested it and the entire file is there.
Maybe try again?

Best, -Carl

Hi Carl,
Now I listened the complete piece, it makes me think on Mara Antonieta dancing a minuet in the Versailles palace.
I guess that you composed it.

I recorded in a cassete (1986) the Adagio of the Aranjuez Concert. Since it was recorded on a new tape the reproduction quality was fine but I lost my cassete player. I would like to make a copy of it on a CD and learn the procedure used to insert the copied piece in ...... a web site?; my web page was cancelled. Another step is the conversion of the recorded tape to a CD; I heard that in downtown Lima some local do it so I will ask my assistant to go there with the tape. The web site problem seems to be complex. The instrument used was the guitar (1 guitar only). Perhaps you heard the Adagio, I did the musical guitar arrangement where all violins as well as the melody are performed simultaneously. It was a wonderful moment when listening the result for the first time. My bedroom was the professional studio and the recording was done at 02;00 a.m. to cancell the street noise.
Have a nice weekend
Mario

Oh no, as I said, it's by Bohm, one of JS Bach's teachers.

I'd like to hear your recording. Unfortunately, I don't
know how to advise you with your website.
