Tonight at the MiMoDa Studio in Los Angeles is the next concert in the 2011 MicroFest, a unique combination of microtonal music, text, and sculpture, featuring works and premieres by Harry Partch, Cat Lamb, Jeffrey Holmes, Isaac Schankler, Kim Ye, Quintan Ana Wikswo, David Rosenboom, and me (curated by Aron Kallay). My piece is Luminescence for just-intonation choir and electronics. For more information, go to

Dear Bill,

No offence intended whatsoever, but I think your ratios would be alot easier to read if you would add one more blank space after your ratios.

For Example:

1/1  0
49/48  36
343/324  99
9/8  204
8/7  232
7/6  367
343/288  303
21/16  471
4/3  498
49/36  534
3/2  702
49/32  738
14/9  765
343/216  801
12/7  834
7/4  969
343/192  1005
49/27  1037
2/1  1200

Even more legible would be:

1/1          0
49/48      36
343/324   99
9/8          204
8/7          232
7/6          267
343/288   303
21/16      471
4/3          498
49/36      534
3/2         702
49/32      738
14/9        765
343/216   801
12/7        834
7/4          969
343/192  1005
49/27      1037
2/1         1200

All the best,

Mark Rankin

Sorry, Mark. I had entered them with tabs between and they looked fine in my browser before I posted. I'll try to make sure they are replaced with multiple spaces in the future.
