But is the FROM field included in the body of the message so that when you
use the REPLY function in your email program the reply starts with
"From: johnlink@con2.com (John Link)"? It used to be that way for me, and
now it is not. That means that to show the identity of the write on whose
message I am commenting I must separately copy or type the name, as I did
in this reply. What a nuisance! What a shame that egroups eliminated a
useful function! I'm CCing this message to support@egroups.com in hope that
they will eventually restore the FROM field in the body of the message.

John,

Here, checking the second (non-digest account), is a
reply to you.

I used the reply function in Yahoo mail, and it
appears that, yes, it quotes the 'From' field. It
didn't format it exactly the way you did, but that is
usually handled by the email program YOU use. In my
real email account, I use Eudora and can configure the
reply-to attribution to say anything I like, as long
as there is a from field.

HTH,
Jon

It was _never_ that way for me, pre-egroups or post-egroups. I _always_ had
to copy the sender's name. John, I suspect the fault lies elsewhere in your
system.
