And then there's that problem with 1/1
only coming out once in a blue moon.

I don't know why Paolo's Primer is late or Paul's tape didn't arrive, but
there is a more obvious solution to David Beardsley's above complaint. The
main reason 1/1 is so irregular is lack of submissions. If you'd like to
see it more often, then write for it and encourage others to as well.

Putting an issue together also takes quite a bit of time which David Doty
generously contributes, even though he, like most of the rest of us, must
also make a living. If you would like to offer some of your own time
towards the more regular publication of 1/1 and running of the Just
Intonation Network, I'm sure David would welcome the help.

Is there another book I can order then for information on Just Intonation?
Obviously, Just Intonation Primer is the WRONG book to get for those of us
who just want to learn. What good is a book you never get when you order it?

At various microtonal concerts in NYC over the past few years
I heard various accounts of checks never being deposited
and so on. When I joined 6 or 7 years ago I got my
copy barely within 6 weeks - fair trade laws in the US
indicate that you have to fulfill an order within 6 weeks.
But apparently JI Network service has fallen apart.
Not much of a network.

I don't usually write about the technical aspects
of tuning because I'm more concerned about composition
& performance. I do have some notes about guitar tunings
for slide and open notes, but it's an on going project
and I'm not ready to publish. There's a nice 13 limit
ebow steel guitar loop running in the background as I type.
Brand new. Came up with it on the train home tonight.

Don't be silly. The last issue was 20 pages and little or no
advertising! Quite a bit of time? Once a year?
Let go of my leg Bill! Maybe someone could
volunteer to take over publication of this journal since
DD can't be bothered with it for it anymore.

The list has been quiet of late, perhaps some of our
more prolific posters could be working on an article?
I doubt it.

The last issue of 1/1 was late because my article was lat.e
It was not David Doty's fault. He doesn't make 1/1 up out
of thin air, and he can't publish it unless pepole submit
their articles.

Best,

Lydia Ayers
