Hi, Tuners,

Many thanks to Carter Scholz and Robert Rich for coming up with a great original
JI Calc. My students have nearly finished their project of porting the Just

Intonation Calculator to Java, and they have put a Beta version up on the Web at:

http://wwwfyp.cs.ust.hk:7050/

Please note that this is a temporary web site, which will be moved when they
graduate. Also note that they haven't succeeded in getting the lattice to work
yet, but they do have sound and most of the other features.

Please give it a try and let them know soon if you have any suggestions for
other things that they can do to improve it:

Alvin Cheung: cs_cccac@stu.ust.hk
Daniel Suek: cs_ssh@stu.ust.hk

Thanks.

For a recording project past deadline, I'd like to microtune the MIDI
instrument using Audio Compositor (see my letter of a couple of days ago).
Apologies for the elementary nature of this request, but could someone
kindly post the cent equivalents of 7-limit JI and meantone tunings? For
instance, for JI,
1 #1 2 #2 3 4 #4 5 #5 6 #6 7
0 4 -14 -27 2 6? -12
is my guess, but what about the missing scale degrees?

What about other tunings that were extant in the mid-1800s? (That is the
period I am trying to emulate in the music).

Thanks,
