Perseverance

This is the second piece in my series examining John O’ Sullivan’s work The Mathematics of Music. In this improvisational piece I explicitly explore C minor using the Blue Temperament tuning system found in John’s book.

I like this simple setting and its title.

Regarding your Orwell piece, I liked it this time too.
I didn't save the original to compare, but it sounded just
like I remembered it. What changed?

Thanks for the listens and comments - I'm glad you like Perseverance.

As far as the Orwellian piece - I changed a few things = There is a
long introduction - expanded section that used to be the beginning. -
a bit more polyphony - and a coda. Then there is the video too. I
think the good part about your comment for me is that the introduction
did indeed retain the flavor of the main theme. What I did was
"re-composed" the chord progression into the harp and then added
counterpoint against it using a pseudo cantus firmus technique - the
piece is about a minute and a half longer now.
