mp3 help needed

Hi all,

Could anybody help me out by telling me (or pointing me to a Web page
that does) what is the most straightforward and reliable way to turn
selections off of a CD-R into mp3s to post at mp3.com? I'm still very
much the computer clod and have been having a ton of absurd problems
trying to do this, so if someone could slowly walk me through this
off-list (or again, point me to a Web page that does) I'd really,
really appreciate it!
