It seems that if you start on the 7/6 you have a Major like scale that I
have used for years as a diatonic scale. i would imagine i am no way alone on
this!

YES! With drones on 1/1 and 3/2. My favorite with Drones (from bottom to top
) 27/14 1/1 3/2 (in next octave up , of course) 1/1 3/2 1/1. Try it on
organ, without the 28/27 below your lowest 1/1 it sounds flat, with it it
breathes!
