The 88 cents was Morrison's given so was i believe he was riffing on the idea.tempering it to make an ET at 150 which where i think he thought the change would be small.
What you say would result in the same. The one advantage of any ET is it being a condensation of any different generators. Which means one can take a theme and expand/contract it as one wants. (one can actually do this with unequally spaced scales too)
