Yes it is, and I've had it happen. It's not just the pressure, but the
shock from the fret hammer. Unless you set the fret in perfectly straight
and hammer straight in, you get some side pressure. One solution is to use
a fret press, and a blade larger than the standard .023" (guitar) fret
tang. Unfortunately, a larger slot means the fret won't set well without
glue.
