Could this work for us?

This is a great idea

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/Musopen/record-and-release-free-music-without-copyrights

The idea is to hire an orchestra to play great music and release the recordings of it to the world.

I wonder if this could work for microtonal music - if we could find the performers.

Imagine what a public domain legal library of the most illustrious microtonal works could do...

Kickstarter is great. I've pledged to two projects so far,
the last of which just a couple hours ago

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1726389822/shoreham-film-fundraising

and I've been thinking about possible microtonal projects.

From game theory, I'm interested in something called
dominant assurance contracts. Kickstarter is offering
assurance contracts, which is close. I've yet to find a
clearinghouse for DCAs... if anybody knows of one, please
write me offlist.

Prior to kickstarter, there was
http://www.pledgebank.com
but it's one of those things that's mysteriously only
popular/usable in its country of origin (in this case,
the UK).
