Been doing the rounds... sharing the news of some new tunes. :-)

knowsur is into electronic music and microtonality, and the latest to release their work on the split notes label.

His album, NANA WODORI, exploits unusual aspects of 7-tet e.g. how it can make the Second Viennese School's twelve-tone technique sound listenable/pop-accessible. Only, knowsur mixes his explorations with infectious beats.

Coming in with high expectations. :-)
I've always thought of 7TET as a strong scale with its slew of strong
11-limit ratios (including some of my favorites like 11/9, 11/10, and 18/11) and
odd ability to stack neutral seconds into surprisingly stable clusters (far more
stable than stacking semi-tones, IMVHO). All with this odd overwhelming sense
that a lot of the moods accessible can still substitute well for diatonic ones
(thus making it a decently strong "standard but not standard" pop scale).

Just started listening...so far tracks 2 and 6 sounds very good.... :-)

Some of these pieces are really great! What a beautiful happenstance
that microtones at last found their way into the electronic mass-music
market with such increasing high quality examples.
