Has anyone tried to take a 12 equal guitar and add temporary frets to make a 24 equal?

This would seem doable.... and I bet someone has had the idea already.

I'm interested in the results of the experiment.

They do it in Western Sahara. That is, they add a fret, I don't know
how temporary. Neither do I know of any recordings demonstrating it.

Much Mediterranean pop music (ex. Egyptian) uses 24 ET

Hi Kraig,

Can you link me to some 24-et pop? Or do you know any songs by name
that use 24-et?

I tried this early on by masking taping fret-sized pieces of wound G or D strings between the frets, and, while crude, it actually worked well enough. Later I bought this halftone converted to quartertone :

I use this guitar a lot, but in my music it's almost always mixed with a lot of other things, and I doubt God or Johnny Reinhard can tell were it is and where it isn't.

But I tried a lot of primitive things like this early on... like touching a soldering iron to music box spindles/tines and cutting/filing cheap organ tines
