If my information is correct, John R. Pierce, world renowned microwave and
communications engineer, "father of the communication satellite", professor
emeritus of music at Stanford, and co-discoverer of the BP scale, is going to
turn 90 on March 27. You can find a few details at

I do not know whether John Pierce is inclined to entertain congratulations
(my own attempts to establish contact remained unanswered, to my regret) but
