this site is kind of like coming full circle for me as I started off in the cassette underground, and Donald Campau's "No Pigeonholes" and Op (and later Gajoob) were some of the first reviews and whatnot that I got back in the mid 80s.....a much simpler, hands-on and funky time IMO. \BTW, I just noticed that Campau has a massive and loving site dedicated to this history with all kinds of info----start here:
