Austin, Texas, USA -- Radio Broadcast Announcement

Hi Folks,

Since this radio program includes Indian classical and folk music sung
and played mostly on non-12-tET instruments (including Carnatic veena
and Hindustani bansuri), I hope you don't mind my announcing it here.

On Wednesday (8 March 2000) from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm, the music and
poetry group Sangati (of which my wife and I are members) and the South
Asian women's group Saheli (of which my wife and I are also members)
will present a program called "Unfettered Voices: A Tribute to Women's
Movements in India" on KOOP 91.7 FM as part of Austin's International
Women's Day Community Media Festival.

Among other things, you'll get to hear my wife and two other Indian
women sing Indian classical and folk music and hear me and two Indian
musicians play Indian classical instrumental music. :-)
