COOLEDIT WORKS GREAT!

Ok, so I'm shouting... but CoolEdit works great... I can record DIRECTLY to
.MP3 with the new edition -- Cool Edit 2000! No encoder necessary. We can
"forget" about .wav files...

Many thanks to Rick McGowan [TD 558:7] for the tip. The full version of
the software is currently only $69. First you download the "demoware" and
then, after paying with your credit card (I think you have a few weeks
leeway with the demo) you download *another* file which is the "key" to the
software. Once you enter your registration number into it, it
"automatically" finds the CoolEdit demoware and "adjusts" it so that the
"full" and not the eventually expiring "demo" edition is in operation.

It certainly is easy to make .mp3's this way... Of course, there is also a
"Pro" edition with multi-track editing possibilities at around $400 for the
truely immersed...

BTW... there is an "upgrade" to go from the CoolEdit 96 that Rick mentioned
to CoolEdit 2000. The *main* new feature is, of course, the handling of
the .mp3 file format...
