The Sitarla bridge does not look like a Sitar bridge to me.

I'll admit that it has been a while since I looked closely at a sitar
bridge, but if I remember correctly, a sitar bridge is a large
rectangular block that gradually tapers off in the direction of the
frets -- which is a large part of what gives the sitar its
characteristic buzz. The bridge in these pictures looks like a skinny
guitar-style bridge.

Ok, so it has the bead sliders beneath the bridge for fine-tuning, but I
suspect those are more useful on a real sitar which has friction tuning
pegs and not geared tuning machines such as this thing appears to have.
Here I suspect they are somewhat redundant and in any event they are not
going to make the thing sound like a sitar. :-)

Cheers,
Christopher

Yes, I thinking of the tuning beads. On second thought
maybe I should have said the deeply scaloped neck is more
sitar than guitar. Since I was at NAMM and actually heard
the thing, I can tell you that yes, it does sound like
a sitar. Obviously without moveable frets or sympathetic
strings it is not a sitar.

It's more sitar than the Danelectro/Jerry Jones Electric Sitar
or Baby Sitar:
