I skimmed it. It seems to focus on period temperaments

I just skimmed it as well, but that's a pretty accurate representation of
things from what I could see. I'm pretty surprised. I was expecting to see
something explaining that 12 perfect 5ths does not actually equal a few
octaves, and then start complaining that 12-equal is bad because of the 2
cent sharp fifths, or whatever.

the book by Duffin came out 3 years ago and I read it a couple of years ago.
So, the review seems a little late but anyway...it is an entertaining book that can be read (and understood) even if you are not a microtonal practitioner.
