Rothenberg's paper

Hi all,

I'm about to road trip up to Niagara Falls with my family and could
use some "light reading." I wanted to read Rothenberg's seminal paper
about scales, or whichever paper of his is best to read first.

Does anyone have any quick recommendations? A quick google search for
"Rothenberg scale paper" isn't doing enough to keep out the riff raff.
