Spreading confusion?

The Mathematical Theory Of Tone Systems (Pure And Applied Mathematics) (Hardcover - 2003-12-19)
by Jan Haluska (Author), Darina Halasova (Author), Haluska Haluska (Author)

Does anyone know anything about this book or its author, as he/she/it seems to have made the most elementary errors/typos and confusions on pages 157-159, between his Harrisons, Erv Wilson, and Kornerup?

I haven't worried to buy it or read the rest of it, yet maybe someone on the tuning list with more patience could give us a considered review of the complete "work".

Confirmed, Slovakia. Just follow your link and read author's bio on the back cover. Never heard of him despite I've been living near until 2003.

From superficial reading of few pages he seems to be one of those who are able to explain the most simple things in the most complicated way :-( No, thanks. This is not the book I would ask from Santa.

Jan used to post here in the old days. I didn't know he'd
published a book. I couldn't get to pp 157-159 with Google, and
I'm not about to pay $200.

Only the already used book costs 194$, Carl, the new ones cost 174$ !!
Well, still very dissuasive I admit !

I could'nt get either to pp 157-159.
But if you have access to those, Charles, could you send some excerpts ?
If there are some mistakes, I am sure the authors would appreciate to know it.
Nobody knows them ?

You have to click near the top left of the page where there is s Google logo and it says "Look inside this book", to view the content, which displays a random selection of pages in ascending numerical order.

It works with Safari 4.0.4 on Snow Leopard.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jan Haluska in
Perugia, Italy in 2001, when i gave my presentation
on John Downland's Lute Fretting.

It was nice to see that he mentioned me in his book
a couple of times - once in the preface and, on p 130-131,
in connection with my work on Marchetto of Padua.
