I explored 18 ET a little more.

This prelude has decidedly Debussian whole tone passages. Sorry about that. But all 3 whole tone scales are used. Pianoteq 3.0, M-audio Keystation 88es

Comments welcome - give it a minute to get going.

Thanks,

Do I hear Saba flavours in the beginning?

Hi Oz,

I'm not familiar with Saba's work. In the beginning I'm playing 4 stacked
A's , B's etc. which is mapped to (parallel) augmented chords. Now in this
tuning an octave + tritone is by ear an octave. Consecutive notes in a
wholetone scale is mapped to minor thirds. At one point I hit a bluesy type
interval melodically - that is the direction I want to go in. This was a
microtonal inflection.

Ah, but Saba is not a he or she, it's an it! Specifically it's a mode
of Maqam music. There is certainly a Saba trichord in the opening of
the piece.

then I guess the Saba trichord is an open voiced augmented chord?

Very interesting that I would run into that considering our other
conversation about Maqam :-)

A Bb A G# F# with a sharper Bb and flatter G# makes a Saba flavour.

Then... you are talking melodically and not harmonically?

Then.. ok it must be one of the melodic runs I did in the beginning.
