The bell foundry progress

We are putting together a bid for a bell foundry, which has fallen into administration and may interest the "ears" interested in tuning and bells.

This is their old site:

Here is our "under construction" site:

Wow, so you were really serious this whole time? You actually have venture
capital to buy a bell foundry? You don't mean "interested in tuning",
either--you mean "interested in 88-tet (sorry I forgot you own it,
apologies)--interested in LucyTuning©", no?

Well, here we see the next potential victim of the lethal combination of
"cash makes right" and procrustean obsession with all things LucyTuned©--an
entire English bell tradition erased by ego. Wonderful.

Step right up folks, history in the making.

I would hope, Charles, you take a moment to be sensitive to the fact that
there is an entire society of folks who have lived with their tradition, a
tradition founded on a peculiar combination of rational and irrational
reasons, and that you would at least pause to consider upholding it before
you try to stretch and warp it to your myopic will.

Imho I'd rather see charles buy it then for it to disappear.

Maybe lucy tuning would be better or maybe it wouldn't. Obviously after purchase there would be a motive sell bells and if lucy tuned bells sell then great. If they don't I imagine taylor tuning comes back into fashion.
Its not monopoly money. Its real and I imagine a substatial portion will be charles.

In either case it is unpleasant to read insults.

I am very aware of the existing UK bell traditions, yet am curious as
to whether Harrison's ideas on bell making actual work as well as his
musical tuning. My initial and immediate concern is to put together
the bid for next Friday, with the various people who will be joining
me. The organisation/venture must be commercially viable. I shall know
more at the weekend when I get the paperwork, facts and figures.

The bell tuning questions at present are secondary, and I realise that
many feathers could be ruffled, so I will treat carefully and with due
respect to the centuries of history which comes with Turner bells.

Those interested in bell tuning might appreciate this site:

An steady increase in harmonicity / reduction in beating
is evident with the passage of time:

This would imply that a carillon in lucytuning is possible since it is
Harrison's and Charles's claim that there should be beating against
perfect harmonics.

He basically just measures some bells and runs them
through Terhardt's formula. Did you listen to the series
of audio samples at the /ears.htm page?
